Students will explore our world and the universe through the study of scientific methods, existing theories and emerging technology. The role of the scientist and how research impacts and advances fields such as business, medicine, education and policy—especially the urgent problems of global warming and the African health crisis—are major themes throughout the curriculum. Career pathways in forensic science, health/medicine, biotechnology and environmental studies will capture the attention of students as they attend classes in fully equipped physics, chemistry and biology laboratories. Students will present their culminating work to an invested audience of professionals and peers at an annual science fair, and partnerships with leading technology giants will bolster the programmatic objectives of Sci-Tech.
